Delray Beach, FL – Thousands of pickleball players, spectators and those who are curious about the fastest growing sport in the country will descend on Delray Beach, Florida, in May at the illustrious Delray Beach Pickleball Open.  The prestigious Delray Beach Tennis Stadium & Center for is one of the largest and only stadiums to host a pickleball tournament as this is one of the largest South Florida tournaments with prize money of more than $30,000 which attracts top pros as well as senior pros from around the world of pickleball to compete.

“This will be the third year we are bringing the Pickleball Open to Delray Beach,” said Carl Foster, producer and executive director of the tournament.  Foster continued, “The first two years completely sold-out, as we expect to be the same this year.  It’s one of our biggest events, as it takes a staff of nearly 200 employees and volunteers to run a tournament of this magnitude with 27 courts, as well as making preparation for live television coverage on the only pickleball television show in the world, Inside World Pickleball, as featured on CBS Sports, Fox Sports, and now launching on Amazon Prime’s new television network, Pickle TV.  The tournament will also be featured on the Inside WORLD Pickleball You Tube channel.”

The Delray Beach Pickleball Open also features the National Pickleball Expo Village with plenty of pickleball related exhibitors providing great deals on pickleball related products and services including: active wear, footwear, paddles, as well as the latest accessories, training aids and equipment.   There will also be pickleball vacations, and maybe even the first official pickleball car!  In addition, there will be non-stop fun with live music, great food & drink, as well as lots and lots of fun.

“Delray Beach and surrounding area is actually home to a large number of professional pickleball players,” said George Domaceti of the World Pickleball Group(www.worldpickleballgroup.com).  He continued, “so it’s only natural that so many professionals compete in this tournament.  I guess it also doesn’t hurt that there’s $30,000 in prize money on the line!”

The new Baptist Health Recovery Center will be a new addition and they are returning as a Presenting sponsor of the event along with the Palm Beach Sports Commission. Celsius Fitness Drinks is also an official sponsor along with PaddleTap, Tyrol Pickleball Shoes and many others.

Tournament Players should register early as most divisions will sell-out early. Spectators should also get tickets as soon as possible as the VIP Best Seats directly on court are almost sold-out with just about a month to go, and Box seats are also going fast for the 5-day event May 10-14, 2023, at the Delray Beach Tennis Stadium.
