Neurotech has been a fascinating area of interest for many, but there’s a new piece of technology that’s taking the world by storm. In this episode of Walk this Way, Charlie Walk and Moha Bensofia share their thoughts on Mendi. This real-time medical-grade neurofeedback device is truly one-of-a-kind, as it allows users to get more blood to the front of their brain. By using neurofeedback to provide visual feedback based on their brain activity, Mendi measures the activity while users play a fun brain-training mobile game. What’s more, it requires focus and calmness, effectively increasing activity and control of the user’s brain pathway. While developed initially for victims of war and trauma, as well as people struggling with anxiety, PTSD, and ADHD, the device has garnered interest from everyone looking to improve their brain function. As you’ll hear on this episode, Mendi is a game-changer, allowing people to learn lessons from Moha’s journey to greatness.

Charlie Walk is then interested in how this can be accessible to everyone, Moha Bensofia states, “My biggest fight is going to be make it affordable to everybody so that it doesn’t become a thing where your level of income determines the type of care that you or your children get. I mean, cognitive decline, things like Alzheimer’s can be, can be fought against with a device like this, all sorts of conditions can be improved. But we just need to put these things in the hands of people.”

With this new technology, research is currently of utmost importance. Bensofia comments on their research efforts stating, “We work with Stanford neuroscientists who work with Princeton neuroscientists and we work with NASA .. the evidence is piling up. Chris Wilson’s got some research that’s coming out. That’s incredibly powerful. We have everybody, everything from professional athletes using this to, there’s a lot of research. People ask me why there aren’t more mountains of research. And the answer is because we’re early.”

In the full episode of Walk this Way, Bensofia takes us on a journey through his path to success, opening up about his mental health struggles along the way. It’s a compelling story that shows how hard work and perseverance can lead to great accomplishments, but also how important it is to take care of our mental well-being. This podcast has a lot to offer – not just this episode, but many others about music, personal development, and more.
